About ISO 9001:2000
The ISO 9001:2000 is among ISO's most widely known standards. ISO 9001:2000 has become an international reference for quality management requirements in business-to-business dealings all over the world. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes in 148 countries, on the basis of one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.
ISO 9001:2000 is primarily concerned with "quality management". "Quality management" means what the organization does to ensure that its products or services satisfy the customer's quality requirements and comply with any regulations applicable to those products or services.
